Finding books with multiple versions on SOLO - new and improved!

From today, 26th April, improvements have been made to how books with multiple editions display on SOLO, which should make it easier to see what is available. This includes instances of multiple print editions, or instances where there are print and online editions.

Whereas before there used to be an easily-overlook-able link saying '1 of x versions of this work' on the right-hand side, you will now see a line of text saying 'multiple versions found - to view list click versions on the right'. This should direct you to the link that will bring up a list of all the different editions available in Oxford, automatically sorted in date order with the newest edition at the top. If there is an e-version, this will be shown on the intitial results page, and will be at the top of the list when you click the link.

There is no change to how books with only one edition display.

Inter-Library Loan price increase

The cost of Document Supply (ILL) in all the Bodleian Libraries has increased. Charges were last revised 2 years ago so the increase is necessary to cover the costs of the annual British Library price rise and also the 2.5% increase in VAT which came into effect in January.

The cost of a standard loan, photocopy or electronic document request has risen from £4 to £4.50. This cost is heavily subsidised by the Bodleian Libraries.

A full list of services and prices can be found on the Bodleian Libraries website.
