New Library system - live!

Our new library system will be available to readers from 9am on Friday 22nd July.

SOLO http://solo.bodleian.ox.ac.uk is now the library catalogue for printed and electronic materials. There's a link to a SOLO guide from the main SOLO screen and we have some brief printed guides in the Library. Library staff will of course be pleased to help you either in person or by phone or email.

If you have a Single Sign On, you will need to use this instead of your barcode number to renew books, place holds for items on loan or to request items from closed stacks. To access your record, Sign in at the top of the SOLO screen and select My Account. If you do not have a Single Sign On, use your barcode and associated password and sign in as a non Oxford member.

Library staff are now able to renew your books.

New library system

Unfortunately the introduction of the new library system has had to be delayed until 9am on Friday 22nd July.

Mechanisms put in place by Bodleian Libraries to assist readers with obtaining items from the stacks during this period will continue through this week.

Rewley House Continuing Education Library readers who have books due back this week will be unable to renew them. Library staff understand the situation, and there will be no problems with items becoming overdue. We regret the inconvenience caused.

For full information, please see the Bodleian Libraries website at http://www.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/notices/2011-4-5

The system migration will take place during 8th-18th July. During this time:

  • SOLO will remain available for checking the holdings and locations of item, but availability will not be updated and new items will not be added
