Vacation opening hours

The Rewley House Continuing Education Library is now operating vacation opening hours:

Monday - Friday 9.00 - 17.00

During the OUSSA period, Saturday 10th July - Friday 6th August, the Library will be open:

Monday - Thursday 9.00 - 17.30
Friday 9.00 - 17.00
Saturday & Sunday 14.00 - 17.00

The Library will be closed from Saturday 21st August - Monday 30th August inclusive

The Reading Room will be available nornal hours throughout the summer including the closed period.

Term time hours resume on Saturday 25th September

New E-resource for Historians

Mass Observation Online

An incredibly useful source for the study of everyday lives of ordinary people in Britain, Mass Observation Online provides online access to material from the archive. It includes the entire File Report sequence 1937-1972, access to all of the Day Surveys, Directives and Diaries, 1937-1942, early Mass Observation Publications and selected Topic Collection. Thirteen previously unpublished Topic Collections cover: Famous Persons; Household Budgeting; Juvenile Delinquency; Korea; Peace & the Public; Radio Listening; World Outlook; Film; Reading Habits; Dreams; Religion; Victory Celebrations; Capital Punishment.

The resource also includes interactive maps, photographs, bibliographic resources and essays on various aspects of Mass Observation.

New resource for Medievalists

Medieval Family Life

A resource which gives access to collection of family papers from late medieval England. The Paston, Celys, Stonor, Plumpton and Armburgh Papers are Britain's first surviving records of private correspondence, describing everyday life in East Anglia during the Wars of the Roses and the Black Death. Additionally there four other valuable collections relating to medieval families in Essex, Oxfordshire, Yorkshire and Warwickshire, c1400-1490. A resource which gives access to collection of family papers from late medieval England.

This resource is on trial until 23rd June. To access it, go to OxLIP+ and you will see it in the 'New Resources and Trials' box. Single Sign On required for remote access.
