Print, copy and scan: new services and procedures

Advance news of changes to copying and printing

From 9 August 2010, Bodleian Libraries are introducing a new system for photocopying, printing and scanning. Readers will have access to a range of new services across all libraries: scanning, colour copies, self-service online accounts, discounted double-sided, and print jobs that can be collected from any photocopier in any Bodleian Library.

To use the new system, you will need to set up an online account, to which you can add credit using a credit or debit card. When you first come to use the photocopier, your University/Bodleian Libraries card can be linked to this account. Once linked, you will just need to swipe your card to pick up print jobs and access copying and scanning. If you have a Rewley House Continuing Education Library card without a magnetic strip, please ask Library staff.

You will be able to set up your account from 9th August, and instructions on how to do so will be available then.

What will happen to credit on my existing photocopy card?
If you use other libraries, you may have one of the existing copy cards with credit remaining. Once you have set up an account, library staff can transfer credit from the old system to your new account. Simply set up an account and present your old card to library staff in any of the libraries that used the old card system, eg Bodleian, Sackler, History Faculty, English Faculty etc. They will need your PCAS username to complete the transaction. Please note that Rewley House Continuing Education Library staff will be unable to do this.
