Bodleian Open Access Programme

Coming up

Why is Oxford driving Open Access in Drug Discovery? (Tues 28 Jan 15.00 - 16.00)
The pharmaceutical industry is downsizing in Europe, including the UK, because of poor returns on investment. With ageing societies and diseases of modern living, many more patients are in desperate need of many more new medicines. To this end, several scientists in Oxford are working together to create a new ecosystem for drug discovery: one which pools the considerable strengths in industry, with the resources and expertise of academia, patient organisations and  regulatory agencies, in an “open” way.   Prof Chas Bountra of the Nuffield Department of Medicine discusses this “pre-competitive effort”  which is unrivalled by any other academic institute.
Venue: Medical Sciences Teaching Centre, South Parks Road.

New laptop and remote printing system

The exisiting PrinterOn system has been replaced with RemotePrint.  This is a similar web based system that allows you to send print jobs from your laptop, home PC and mobile phone to PCAS.  You can then collect your prints at any of the Bodleian Libraries copiers/printers.

It works very similarly to PrinterOn but user guides are available from library staff and the web pages.  You can access the RemotePrint system by going to http://remoteprint.bodleian.ox.ac.uk However, for the time being the old PrinterOn URL and shortcuts will still work and they will take you straight to RemotePrint.

This guide will take you through the process of sending a file to print from your laptop or from a computer not connected to the Bodleian Libraries network. Note that the system is being tweaked in response to feedback, so there may be some slight changes. The guide will be updated accordingly.
